It is suggested that Milk Thistle should be used for at least 8 weeks before results such as improvements in biochemistry are expected.
Directions for Use

| Small dogs < 15 kg 5-10 drops once or twice daily in food (0.25 – 0.5 mL once or twice daily) | From 200 to 400 days |
| Medium dogs 15 - 30 kg
10-20 drops once or twice daily in food (0.5 – 1.0 mL once or twice daily) | From 100 to 200 days |
| Large dogs > 30 kg
20-30 drops once or twice daily in food (1.0 – 1.5 mL once or twice daily) | From 66 to 100 days |
Note: 20 drops = approx. 1 mL
Active Ingredients
Silybum marianum (St Mary’s Thistle or Milk Thistle). Each 1 mL contains 1,000 mg of dried herb equivalent. Alcohol-free.
Cautions
- Milk Thistle is considered safe and well-tolerated when taken within the recommended dose range.
- Milk Thistle is not contraindicated with conventional medications.
- Studies have found no adverse effects when used during pregnancy, however, caution is required.
- Contraindicated in dogs with known allergy to the Asteraceae (daisy) family.
- Humans studies indicate that Milk Thistle may reduce insulin requirements in some patients with diabetes.
